An Album for the Princess

After I found out about the little Pink one arriving around Christmas, I went to the Scrapbox to purchase some 'girly' paper.  Some of the new MME (My Minds Eye) Lost and Found line is gorgeous, pink, and sparkly! So sparkly that there is glitter all over the rug and couch in Lou's Portuguese corner!!!! Marlo even has glitter in his fur!!
It not finished, but here are some pictures:

Playing, Creating, just having fun

I woke up last Sunday morning and said to myself, "OK, this is it.  It's time to start using some things in your 'Store of a Craft room'.  Today is the day".

My biggest problem is that I am my own worst critic.  When I make something, it has to be perfect and it has to be awesome.  So what if you cut the paper wrong?- use it and claim it as yours.  No one else will know that it wasn't supposed to be that way.

So I made two albums, originally created by Debby Schuh and embraced the imperfections.  I like them and happy with how they turned out.

I then created an album for my sister's little man, Seth, when he was in Ottawa for a visit last May.  Yes, the colours are bright, the pages are simplistic but it's for a 17 month old little man.  He'll be happy with it because it's very bright and contains lots of pictures of himself and his Mom.  Exactly what every child loves!!

Here are some of the scraplifted Sweet Summer Days pages:

Oh the roots run deep.....

So yesterday I receive an email - my baby sister is expecting and the baby is due around Christmas (the date keeps changing, first it was Dec 31, then Dec 25, now Dec 20th).

So any-who she and her husband have chosen their names (I am the God Mommy and I am allowed to pick the middle name - which are two huge honours in my books) and Petra emailed me their two choices.  I am wishing and hoping that the baby is a little girl.

Here is the email I received, "We picked the names: Girl is Olivia** and Blue Ryan**..."

**NB names have changed**

So any way, I am looking and reading, trying to comprehend and decipher this email.  I love the name they have chosen for a girl, but the problem I was having was how did they come up with the name 'BLUE'??  If you know my sister and her husband, this is very outside the box for them.
So I email her back and ask if Blue Ryan is another girl's name or the name they have chosen for their son.  Hey, I didn't know - I have heard of little girl's being named Ryan!  So I suggest that if it is another girl's name to spell it Blu, rather than Blue.  I click Send and go back to what I was doing.

So this morning I receive a reply.  It read, "Oh Linda.  Are you being a Blondie? L.O.L  Pink one is Olivia and Blue one is Ryan".

She probably sat there last night and laughed her head off at me.  I'm glad I can provide entertainment, though be it quite innocently, to her days.

I have my middle name all picked out if the baby is a girl.  For the boy?  Well, that's a bit tricky.  I have three and Petra can choose the one she likes the best.

Love you Petra!!!

For Dad..........

Dad is always teasing that government workers work a bit in the morning and then spend their afternoons looking out the window.  Just wanted him to see what the 'cubicle' looks like.  Behind the chair is the 'window'!!!!!

Sunday, Sunday. Oh what a day........

Brave Girls Club

I received this email and loved it - certainly would pick you up if you were feeling down.

Dear Lovely Girl,

You might think you are lost among the number of people in the world....6 billion people to be exact. You might sometimes feel like you are not unique, or important, or even SEEN. You might feel forgotten and lost in the shuffle...like what you do and how you live and what you think and who you are could not possibly matter.

Who matters to you? How big of a difference do they make in YOUR life...and how different would your world be without them?

Who folded the shirt you were wearing and put it on the shelf at the store in such a way that it caught your eye? Who planted the flowers along the walkway of the happy little house you drive by every day? Who came up with the recipe for your favorite cookies?

Think about all of the small things in your life that bring you joy....the things that REALLLY make your life the way it is. It's the little things that matter, isn't it?

NOW, there are a WHOLE lot of people who think of YOU this way...all of the little things that you do that make their life better. All of the "you-ness" that you add to everything you do that makes the world prettier, and funnier, and happier, and smarter, and funkier and more unique. Not only would THEIR world not be the same without you, but THE WORLD would not be the same without you.

So, don't get caught in the trap of thinking that you have to do BIG THINGS make a difference. JUST BE YOU. PLEASE DON'T STOP BEING YOU. Don't give up....don't get discouraged.

You are not just one in a million, you are ONE IN SIX BILLION. Now, that's pretty darn special, isn't it? OWN IT!

xoxo
