Doggie Day Camp and Unnecessary Censorship

Marlo went to Doggie Day camp for the very first time in his 10 years on Friday! We dropped him off at 7:30am. We did the whole nervous parent thing! "Do you think he'll be OK?" "He's like a little old man - when the youngsters get too rambunctious, he'll stand on the sidelines and just bark at them as if telling them to settle down. Do you think this will get him kicked out into a one-on-one room?"

So we dropped him off, worried what he would be like. The wondering got to the best of me and I just had to call around 2pm to see how he was doing. A co-worker of mine overheard my conversation and said, "Oh, you're such a Mom".
How's he doing? "Oh, he's just walking around and hanging out." I asked if he was in the playroom with the other puppies just to make sure that he didn't get himself kicked out!!

I had to go get him at 3pm just because I figured today being his first day ever, he was probably ready to come home again. I walked in the store and there he is, hanging out in front of the window just hoping and praying mommy will come and save him!! He caught a glimpse of me but you could tell he wasn't too sure if it was me or not (you know the ol' cataracts tend to get in the way sometimes). When he knew it was me the little tail started wiggling profusely! Yay! Finally! Someone came to save me and break me free!

He was never so happy to get out of there! He even received a report card - Lou and I weren't surprised that he received an 'A' in eating!!!

I found this on another blog and it's hilarious!! Enjoy!

The Furry Child

Marlo was sprayed by a skunk, right between the eyes (thank god for PetsMart), and this is my husband's solution to avoid a repeat.

Let's just say that in our household, there is never a dull moment too far away!

The little man just turned 10! That's about 70 in human years! You'd never think he was that old with the way he bounces on you, bounds up and down the steps or takes off to protect his yard from the birds and squirrels!!

A true Ottawa Senators fan! Go SENS Go!

First blog

A little about me? I am married to a very tall, dark and handsome Portuguese man. When I first met him I thought he was Italian but then after awhile the 'duh factor' (or the blond roots!) hit me, Italians aren't a tall breed of people!

We have a little child with fur - Marlon Brando who is a black American Cocker Spaniel. He's very spoiled and the world revolves around his little stubby tail! He owns five Elmo's, a Tele-Tubby (LaLa) plus many other stuffed animals.

I love scrapbooking especially the artists Donna Downey, Heidi Swapp, Tim Holtz just to name a few. I am a lucky lottery winner and will be attending Creative Escape in Phoenix AZ in September!!! Yahoo!

I also love cooking and some of my favourite chefs are Barefoot Contessa (Ina Garten), Giada DeLaurentiis, and Michael Smith.

Recipe for Creme Fraiche:
240 ml / 8 fl. oz Whipping cream
2 tbsp. buttermilk

Mix together in a glass bowl. Cover and let sit at room temperature for about 8-24 hours, or until thickened. Stir and cover with cling wrap. Refrigerate and use within 10 days.

Yummy!

This is cool! Life is great!
