Green Egging and a little song

The season of smoking/bbqing has started once again in Lou's Green Egg.  Today he did ribs low and slow on his second love.  His first love (aka Me) prepared the roasted veggies to accompany the ribs.  I just has a taste and THESE are the bestest ever!!!!

Here are the pics to make you drool:    YUMMO!!!!

Sung to the tune of the Amazing Spider Man cartoon!!!  The actual date of said party is April 9&10 but Marlo got it stuck in his head that it's April 10&11, he's a senior citizen so please forgive him!

Cookin' wibs and beered can chicken
It's all gonna be finger wickin'

The Baby, Oriental Poppies and a Drum Solo

Good grief, you're probably wondering what all that means in the title!  Well just as it reads, literally!

First the baby.  It's hard to believe that he's going to be 12 this July, yet he still looks like a baby, minus the white beard!!  Better get out that water-proof mascara and start using it!!

I went outside yesterday and I was amazed at how big my Oriental Poppies were!  I'm going to split them and move them to somewhere else when it gets a bit warmer.

I was treated to a drum-solo this morning by Marlo and Lou.  They were listening to The Hawk in Port Hawkesbury, NS and a heavy metal tune came on, so they decided that they had to make mom's morning a great one!  Too bad they couldn't be shown fast like a flip book so I guess you'll just have to skim them very fast!!

Can you spot the cruise ship?

Flying above the ocean at 33,000 feet is
1) A little intimidating,
2) Yet awesome at the same time,
3) Playing "I SPY" can be fun, here and there,
4) Really cool when you fly over or above a Carribean Island.

Here are some pictures I took once Lou forfeited his window seat because it was just too uncomfortable for him and his 6"4" body!!

OK, can you spot the cruise ship?  Hint:  Look in the middle and a little to the right.

Islands.  The pilot told us they were the Turks and Caicos.  Please ignore the dirt of the windows!!!

Is Spring really here?

This morning I went outside and look what I saw!!!
These are my Tiger Lillies and they're about 1.5" tall!!!

How exciting!!

"Oh no", Marlo cried, "My Steppie has streppie froat!!!"

Well, it's official, Lou is down and out with Strep throat.  Poor guy, well at least he has penicillin to help him get better.  He's also sad because he can't get any kisses as he is contagious.

I got home this afternoon went downstairs and it looked like one of those paid TV advertisements going on.  Not only was Lou wrapped in this g*d awful Snuggly thing, but Marlo now has the same one in the same colour.  Yes they match!  It's a sad situation here in the Oli household!!!  I can't even post a picture, it's so sad.

So here's another of my honey in Punta Cana instead:

I'm back, back in the New York......

Back in the Ottawa Groove I should say!  Punta Canada (as the Dominicans refer to Canadians) was excellent!  Burnt, sun-blistered, and peeling but rested!!!

We arrived in Punta Cana last Saturday to grey skies and a temp of about 22.  Sunday was miserable, cold and rainy.  What was the rest of the week going to give us?  Monday morning I woke up at 6am opened the blinds and went and woke up to Lou to tell him that I could see a hint of sun.  Got dressed and went and saved two chairs under an umbrella and went on the beach to watch the sun rise!  How beautiful and warm it was!!!  Then....it all went down hill from there...............just kidding!!  Lou and I did get one wicked sun burn though - we had to spend all day Tuesday in the hotel room convalescing!  The rest of the week was great.  Today we got back to Ottawa, a balmy 6 degrees!!!  It's great to be back in the land of Tim Horton's and real tea!!!

Here are some pictures to share.
From our balcony, this is what you saw:
****Notice all of the people on the beach!!  This was taken on Saturday.

Us on the beach Wednesday morning.
View from our beach chairs!!

And Dominican time.  We were picked up at the resort to go back to the airport.  Time scheduled on paper: 9:45am.  Actual pick up time (see clock below).  No worries.......take it easy.....we'll get there...........

This was an amazing class to take.  Work a little, chat a little, eat some goodies, drink some Pelligrino....  all this and the class even ended early!
Here is the layout we made, I love it!
