Maybe next year :(

The Sens lost their bid for the Stanley Cup tonight.  Oh well, there is always next year.
The game went into overtime with the Pens winning 4-3.

We sat behind the penalty box this game, a much better view than last Sunday's game.

We were able to read lips of the refs we were so close when they had to call Toronto for the Goal or No Goal calls.  Lou had the ref on the left laughing when he was on the phone for the first call in, he had to turn his back to the camera so no one could see him!!!

Wow! Triple Overtime!! And beautiful fabric flowers!!!

Triple overtime and the Sens won!!!  Yay!  This means that Lou and I can go to the game tomorrow night instead of being reimbursed for our Game #3 tickets.  This is exciting.  Hopefully they will win tomorrow night as well!!!

I took a class taught by the very talented Stéphanie this past Wednesday and we learned to make beautiful flowers!  When I say beautiful, I mean beautiful!!!!

The Best Husband EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, today was my first day back to work since March 31st!!  It's just the way things worked out.
Anyway Lou sneakily took today off, unbeknownst to me.

So after 11 hours at work I come home AND...................................

he has vacuumed the entire house; the basement, middle floor and upstairs PLUS he cooked dinner on his Green Egg, folded the laundry, made breakfasts and lunches for the entire week.

I am really surprised, impressed and love him very much right now.

Many points in his 'Bank of Love'.  This is a virtual bank where he stores his points so that if he does something silly that does not impress me one bit, he can withdraw points and everything is OK once again!!

TGIF and can the SENS do it again?? UPDATED

****UPDATE - Oh no, they lost 2-1.  Hopefully when we go to the game on Sunday the results will be better.****

Wow!  What a week!  I have been on course all week in a Management Learning Program.  It's a three module course and my next one is in February 2011.  Got to meet 20 others from St. John's all the way to Vancouver!!
I guess what is making it so difficult is the fact that I haven't been to work since March 31st!  So I'm feeling a little out of touch with my team.  Monday is a brand new day.

GAME TWO tonight!
Can the SENS beat the PENS once again tonight????

Sunday's Pizza 'Lupper' (lunch & supper)

On Sunday Lou got up and made some pizza dough, let it rise, and shaped it into circles.  Yes all by himself!!!
He made one Hawaiian and one all-dressed.  Once they were cooked, we had some and it was very deleicious.  He is currently looking for the perfect pizza dough recipe as this one was a bit tough and crunchy.
We like thick and spongy!!!

The Good Wife's Guide - HA!

AS IF!!!!

Here is what it reads:

Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready on time for his return. This is a way of letting him know that you have be thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they get home and the prospect of a good meal is part of the warm welcome needed.

Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your make-up, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh-looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people.

Be a little gay and a little more interesting for him. His boring day may need a lift and one of your duties is to provide it.

Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before your husband arrives. Run a dustcloth over the tables.

During the cooler months of the year you should prepare and light a fire for him to unwind by. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift too. After all, catering to his comfort will provide you with immense personal satisfaction.

Minimize all noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer or vacuum. Encourage the children to be quiet.

Be happy to see him.

Greet him with a warm smile and show sincerity in your desire to please him.

Listen to him. You may have a dozen important things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first - remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours.

Don't greet him with complaints and problems.

Don't complain if he's late for dinner or even if he stays out all night. Count this as minor compared to what he might have gone through at work.

Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or lie him down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him.

Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soothing and pleasant voice.

Don't ask him questions about his actions or question his judgment or integrity. Remember, he is the master of the house and as such will always exercise his will with fairness and truthfulness. You have no right to question him.

A good wife always knows her place.

A 'Slow Dance' for Mommy by my two Private Dancers

I was treated to a slow-dance (as a spectator) from 'Steppie' and Marlo, my two Private Dancers.
This is why I cannot go out as I have to stay home and supervise the goings-on here.  Believe me there are alot of goings-on and shenanigans!!  They are Trouble with a capital 'T'.

They were slow-dancing to 'Love Bites' by Def Leppard, Lou was flashing back to his Grade 7 dance, when he was 13 and tells me that I was NOT - where's that Cheeta Snuggly that will bring out the Cougar in me!!!!  As Lou reminds me that I was 19 at the time, in a 'Statutory Situation' as he calls it!!!!!!!!

7Gypsies Keepsake Book

I attended my very first crop this past weekend and had lots of fun!!
This is a keepsake book I made for an upcoming trip to Portugal to record all my memories and hold memorabilia.
I made the envelopes as 'inner office mail' envelopes so that there wouldn't be any mishaps and have them accidently get stuck together.  I also included some ephemera and note paper to record any information or journalling.
The red door knob is my favourite!

Green Egging Pizza!!

Lou came home with the makings for pizza today.

He made two Hawaiian pizzas - the first one turned out beautiful but of course we don't have a picture of that one!!  So it must not be true.

The second one however got stuck to the pan and when Lou went to transfer it to parcement paper it looked like a huge conglomeration of stuff.  So he put it back together as best he could and cooked it.

Here are the pictures - it doesn't look too bad for being slapped together!!

Three days later, dinner and the latest pose for LOVE

Just a bunch of different things to post today.

First to all of those migraine suffers out there, I feel for you.  I have had a headache since midnight Tuesday night.  It was so bad that it woke me up and then there was a HUGE and LOUD BOOOOM and a flash of light.
I have been in bed all day Wednesday and finally got up at 2:30pm and I still have a headache.  Please Mr. Sun come back, please.

Tuesday, I took a picture of the progress of the lilac leaves.  This is the before and then three days later:

BEFORE                                      AFTER

Here is a photo of the chicken Lou cooked on his Green Egg for dinner the other night.  Better than Beer Can Chicken anyday!!

And finally a picture of Marlo and his latest pose.  It's called, "Love Me Please."  He's started laying like this and loves getting his belly rubbed.  Before you had to give him a treat after his loves, now he's soaking them all in!!

A heavy-weighted sigh..........

PAINTING.
That word belongs with those 4-letter expletives like #%@& and %&*@ (use your imagination)!!

I want to get the powder room, bathroom and kitchen painted.  I know, I know, I could always hire a painter but.....

The above was written at 9:30 this morning.  Now at 8pm this evening of the same day......I am proud to say that both the bathroom and powder room are painted.  Mind you they need a second coat and then the baseboard painted.  But they are painted.  Lou did an awesome job patching the walls and painting the ceilings in both rooms.  Some days I love this man more than he knows.

Good-bye sage green and fire engine red!!!  Hello to Wasabi and Roasted Sesame Seed.  Awesome, awesome colours.

I will post some after pics once I have them completed!!!

The yard now looks nice and ready to take on the world.
