2011 Calendar

Did you happen to peruse here and see their awesome desk calendar?

I made one and am currently trying to find a source for a 5/8" square head nail to hold up the individual calendar months.  I will post a picture of mine once I find a nail!!

Eklectik Diva's Shoppe

I have decided that I am going to 'reorganize' my Store of a Craftroom and any new products that have never been given a second glance at will now be available for sale! How cool is that?

I have set up my own Shoppe aptly named Eklectik Diva's Shoppe which you will see on the right directly under my profile. Once I have items to sell, I will list them here for everyone to see and purchase if you so wish.

Stay tuned for items coming very soon!!!

One little word 2011

So I have been contemplating, researching and contemplating some more as to what my one little word for 2011 would be and I think I may have found it - badassery.

courtesy of chookooloonks.

What in heavens name does that mean you wonder?  Well I have perused many sources and this is the best I can come up with and have added some more courtesy of chookooloonks:

Badassery - Engaging in seemingly impossible activities and achieving success in a manner that renders all onlookers completely awestruck.
     * Someone who isn't afraid to wish good things for herself. Someone who believes she's worthy of being happy.
     * Someone who isn't afraid to make goals, and then once those goals are made, isn't afraid of taking those first, tiny steps toward achieving those goals.
     * Someone who realizes that taking care of herself isn't selfish or egotistical, but that sometimes you have to put the oxygen mask on first before you start helping others.
     * Someone who realizes that at her core, she's a good person. And that given this, when she makes a mistake, maybe she should go easy on herself.
     * Someone who, when bad things happen (and make no mistake, they will happen), will not spend valuable time thinking about who did her wrong, or why the world is conspiring against her, but will instead spend that time working through it by taking care of herself, leaning on friends as necessary, asking for help when needed, and treating herself as she would a good friend going through a similar situation. Someone who, when life knocks her down, does what she can to pick herself up, dust herself off, and try, try again.
     * Someone who makes kindness to friends, people around her (like waiters and others in the service industry), and even strangers her primary focus; and who also takes care to surround herself and cultivate relationships with good friends who have equal focus. Someone who is never afraid to speak her mind or her truth, but always does so with kindness.
*And finally (and probably most predictably), someone who works hard at reframing the things that make her different, recognizing them as attributes that are sources of great beauty, and when used for good, maybe even superpowers.

Teabag folding = flowers??

So I have been trying my hand at teabag folding.  It's quite easy once you get the 'knack' of which way to fold!!  Am I going in or out??  Well at least that was my dilemma for a few tries!!

Here are three I have made using two different techniques.  The smaller ones would look nice in Christmassy paper with a brad in the centre.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

Thursday, December 30, 2010

It's 2:30pm and what is your child up to???

Skidball
(a little joke b/w me and mom) aka Marlo cannot tell the time.  I have discovered this quite some time ago and his skills have gotten so bad that I needed to post a picture.

Every afternoon, because I am at home for 6 weeks, at precisely 2:30pm Marlo goes to the backdoor and wants out to go read his comic books.  He comes in and begins to demand his supper/dinner.  I try and explain to him, which falls on deaf ears (literally) that it is not supper time and to knock it off.

He then proceeds to claw at his food container and starts slapping his ceramic food dish around on the ceramic tile - not a good mix.

The Right Place at the Right Time - Woohoo!!!

For over 20 years, yes 20, it has always been a dream of mine to have fire engine red dishes!!!  Enough for 8 people!  Forget the mugs, they're not that necessary.  Well, in my books anyways!  Just give me the bowls, salad plates, dinner plates, matching trays and a few serving dishes for good measure!

And.....the only time I can find 'red' things for my kitchen is either at Christmas or Valentines!!

I walked into Pier 1 today and the angels were singing!!!  And everything was more than 50% off to boot!!
I scored huge!

Merry Belated Christmas to me!!!!!

Inside the God Box

I found this to be very moving and just wanted to share it.

So True!!!

1. I think part of a best friend’s job should be to immediately clear your computer history when you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn’t want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I’m pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t at least kind of tired.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren’t going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blu-Ray?

13. I’m always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.

14. I keep some people’s phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

15. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

16. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Rum and Coke than Kay.

17. I wish Google Maps had an “Avoid Ghetto” routing option.

18. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

19. How many times is it appropriate to say “What?” before you just nod and smile because you still didn’t hear or understand a word they said?

20. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front.

21. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

22. Sometimes I’ll look down at my cell phone 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

23. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey – but I’d bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!

I am doing great!

Thanks everyone for your well wishes, I am doing great and feeling awesome and it's only been one week!  I have another 5 weeks recuperating time so I can't imagine how much better I will be come then!

Although I won't be driving home for Christmas this year, Lou and I will spending it in Kingston with his family.  We take turns every year, too bad Nova Scotia is so far away.  How awesome would it be if it were only as far as Montreal?

Merry Christmas and I hope you get everything you wish for.

Go see T!m's 12 tags here or below.

Isn't she beautiful......

I haven't be able to see her in real life yet, but her mommy is awesome at posting pictures!!!
Here are some of her latest modelling poses.....

Apparently this was a fruit basket Petra received!!  Now that's tiny!!
Marcy was still in the hospital at this point.

Looks like she's swimming in her clothes she's so tiny!!
I'm sure she'll grow into them very quickly!

Look at the size of that nucky!  Wow!
