Can you spot the cruise ship?

Flying above the ocean at 33,000 feet is
1) A little intimidating,
2) Yet awesome at the same time,
3) Playing "I SPY" can be fun, here and there,
4) Really cool when you fly over or above a Carribean Island.

Here are some pictures I took once Lou forfeited his window seat because it was just too uncomfortable for him and his 6"4" body!!

OK, can you spot the cruise ship?  Hint:  Look in the middle and a little to the right.

Islands.  The pilot told us they were the Turks and Caicos.  Please ignore the dirt of the windows!!!

Is Spring really here?

This morning I went outside and look what I saw!!!
These are my Tiger Lillies and they're about 1.5" tall!!!

How exciting!!

"Oh no", Marlo cried, "My Steppie has streppie froat!!!"

Well, it's official, Lou is down and out with Strep throat.  Poor guy, well at least he has penicillin to help him get better.  He's also sad because he can't get any kisses as he is contagious.

I got home this afternoon went downstairs and it looked like one of those paid TV advertisements going on.  Not only was Lou wrapped in this g*d awful Snuggly thing, but Marlo now has the same one in the same colour.  Yes they match!  It's a sad situation here in the Oli household!!!  I can't even post a picture, it's so sad.

So here's another of my honey in Punta Cana instead:

I'm back, back in the New York......

Back in the Ottawa Groove I should say!  Punta Canada (as the Dominicans refer to Canadians) was excellent!  Burnt, sun-blistered, and peeling but rested!!!

We arrived in Punta Cana last Saturday to grey skies and a temp of about 22.  Sunday was miserable, cold and rainy.  What was the rest of the week going to give us?  Monday morning I woke up at 6am opened the blinds and went and woke up to Lou to tell him that I could see a hint of sun.  Got dressed and went and saved two chairs under an umbrella and went on the beach to watch the sun rise!  How beautiful and warm it was!!!  Then....it all went down hill from there...............just kidding!!  Lou and I did get one wicked sun burn though - we had to spend all day Tuesday in the hotel room convalescing!  The rest of the week was great.  Today we got back to Ottawa, a balmy 6 degrees!!!  It's great to be back in the land of Tim Horton's and real tea!!!

Here are some pictures to share.
From our balcony, this is what you saw:
****Notice all of the people on the beach!!  This was taken on Saturday.

Us on the beach Wednesday morning.
View from our beach chairs!!
One of workers dressed in costume for the Dominican Party Friday evening (taken from our balcony at 40 times zoom)

And Dominican time.  We were picked up at the resort to go back to the airport.  Time scheduled on paper: 9:45am.  Actual pick up time (see clock below).  No worries.......take it easy.....we'll get there...........

'Home' 12x12 layout class

This was an amazing class to take.  Work a little, chat a little, eat some goodies, drink some Pelligrino....  all this and the class even ended early!
Here is the layout we made, I love it!

Crepe Paper

I created two mini-albums for a friend and used crepe paper on some of the pages.  Very cute!!  Looks like little mini-grass skirts - I'm lovin' the look!

All Glittery and Sparkly!

Let's just say this lamp, which was supposed to go in my hallway, would look better in a 'as my friend Dawn says' in a French boudoir!!!
I think it would look nice in my Mother's B&B as she is all about the sparkle (wink, wink)!!!  Especially the disco balls!!  Thanks Dawn!!

I had loads of fun at class last night making this lamp.  Although I must confess that I drastically deviated from the class outline!  I was there for the company, the laughs and to learn how to make the 'base' for my lamp.
Thanks Stephanie!

Here are the pics, some better than others:

When do you know you are bored at work?

Your work is done, you have completed assignments due in two weeks, there's 45 minutes left til you're outta here.  What do you do??

It got to the point today where it was becoming a 'slit my wrists now' situation.
So I grabbed me my scissors, 4 Post-It Notes, a pencil and my tape dispenser and went to town creating a Post-It paper rose.

This isn't my creation but I needed a picture so you would get the idea!!

My Two Men Album

This fabric album took alot of thought, a lot of looking at the different product pieces, and a lot of standing up and going away.  The fabric and paper is from Basic Grey's Blush line.  I guess my main problem was the pink in it and the flowers.
Excuse the graininess of the pictures, I think the camera is on holidays.  The pictures didn't turn out that well, but here goes:

Brandon O'Whiney

In honour of St. Patrick's Day which is right around the corner, we have given Marlo a new name.

Presenting.....................................

Brandon O'Whiney and he's in action at his grandparents in Kingston!!

One of these days he's going to get a little cheese with that whine!!!!

Everything is ow, ow, ow.  This means I want a treat, I want another treat, I want, I need.......

But then again, he can be quite cute when he's facebooking his hottie friends.

What have I 'not' been up to?

It's been a long time since I have posted anything on my blog.  Shame on me!!!

I have taken some classes and have also scraplifted some projects based on these classes.

Here are a few pics as to what I have been doing:

This is a 7gypsies painters tray that I completed last Saturday.  I even made the flowers, leaves and stems!!

This lamp is for a class that I am taking Thursday, Febraury 25.  I wanted to make mine a bit different so I started by attaching butterflies.  I will post the final lamp next weekend.

I had taken a mini-album class and then scraplifted it to make a Christmas mini-album for Mom and my sisters.

This is an album I made in a class over a year ago.  I still love it and it remains one of my favourites.

I had made both of my younger sisters an acrylic album for Christmas of their two new men.  Unfortunately one sister thinks hers was accidently thrown away along with some gift certificates she also can't find.  I have made her a new one.  She doesn't know, or she might if she checks my blog!!!

I am working on other projects and I promise I will try and update my blog better than I have been!

Ta-ta for now!!
